Time has always posed challenges for those who work in the media industry. Such a complex field has a great number of interrelated components – from social change to revolutionary advances in technology.
We suggest taking a look at social processes in a much broader way by studying journalism, media management, directing, editing, the stages of the creative process, and the production cycle of creating a media product – simply put, everything that can be called journalism, media, and communications.

The research is the result of an international agreement between the research group of New Media Convergence Centre of Federal University of Minas Gerais and the School of Media of National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).

Previous meeting of the research group took place in Moscow in October, 2014. During the event, the partial results obtained at the time were discussed. On that occasion, the discussions centred on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the research.
At the face-to-face meeting in October 2015 in Brazil, the final results of the research that had been conducted in both countries were presented. Department of Media was represented by its Head, Iliya Kiria, Professor Anna Novikova, and Associate Professors Sergey Davydov and Renira Gambarato.
On October 23, Renira Gambaratto led the workshop on 'Transmedia Narratives: Theoretical and methodological considerations'.

The Russia-Brasil/2015 seminar 'Sportive mega events connected to digital media' is an accomplishment of the research group CCNM and the PPGCOM/UFMG, with the promotion of Fapemig and Capes and the support of PPGCOM/UFOP, Academic Centre UNA, Academis Centre UNI-BH and “Vilarejo Comunicação”.
